Julia Morison’s Meet Me On The Other Side comes to City Gallery following a showing in a reclaimed gallery space in Christchurch overlooking the inner city ‘red zone’. This powerful body of work about things and substances shaken, changed and transformed offers an evocative artistic response to the Christchurch earthquakes. It features sculptures based on objects salvaged from Morison’s damaged studio, found and transformed pieces of furniture, and a suite of monochromatic paintings made from Liquerfaction slit.
