City Gallery Wellington is proud to present Telecom Prospect 2004: New Art New Zealand in partnership with the Adam Art Gallery, the New Zealand Film Archive and Massey University.

Following on from the success of the inaugural contemporary arts survey exhibition Prospect 2001, Telecom Prospect 2004 brings the freshest, most innovative artwork currently being produced in New Zealand to a wide public audience. Spanning 4 venues including City Gallery Wellington, The Adam Art Gallery, The New Zealand Film Archive and Massey University, Telecom Prospect 2004 sprawls across the Capital in a city-wide celebration of the visual arts

Telecom Prospect 2004 offers a ‘snapshot’ of the visual arts in this country and will continue to build strong audiences for cutting edge contemporary art practice in New Zealand. Curated by Emma Bugden – one of New Zealand’s leading young curators with a background in experimental and artist run projects – Telecom Prospect 2004 takes a look at the artists who have made, or are likely to make, an impact on the thinking and identity of our time.

Spanning a range of local venues including City Gallery Wellington, the Adam Art Gallery, Victoria University of Wellington and the New Zealand Film Archive’s Mediaplex, the exhibition will activate the city of Wellington with a celebration of the visual arts. Telecom Prospect 2004: New Art New Zealand will take the stage with works which are open ended and socially, intellectually, and emotionally charged.
