ESSENTIAL BOOKING AND VISIT PREPARATION

Our diverse education programme now includes new on-going programmes available all year round for all year levels, including Māori and Pacific art programmes, critical and creative thinking skills programmes, and outdoor sculpture trails. All programmes can be individually tailored to suit class and subject requirements for primary, intermediate and secondary schools.

BOOKINGS

Education Programmes are available in term time between 10am -3pm. All education programmes are free of charge except for those which inlude a hands-on workshop activity which carry a $3 per student charge, and 'special' programmes which are individually priced. Payment for workshops is required on the day of the visit. Please note: invoices cannot be sent to Schools. We can take a maximum class size of 30 students and a maximum of two classes at one time. Adult/Student Ratios: Primary and Intermediate groups are required to have a ratio of 1: 8 adults to students. Secondary groups are required to have a ratio of 1:15 adult to students. Please inform accompanying adults to be prepared to play an active support role.

PREPARATION

Preparing for your LEOTC visit: Before making a booking, we suggest you visit the Ministry of Education’s LEOTC programme website for more information about the benefits of LEOTC visits http://leotc.tki.org.nz/

It is well documented on this site that students gain the most from an LEOTC visit if they are given the opportunity to discuss what they will see and learn prior to the visit. We encourage all teachers to dedicate some time to a pre-visit class discussion before coming to City Gallery Wellington.
