Venue Hire spaces

Make events a work of art in the spectacular environment of City Gallery Wellington. City Gallery is located in the heart of Wellington city, within the Civic Square. Directly across from Wellington's harbour and all major hotels.

Opportunities are available to host truly unique corporate receptions, dining functions, cocktail parties, product launches and film festivals.

Foyer/Hancock Gallery


Entertain your guests in style in the Foyer/Hancock Gallery.

If you have a client function, impress your guests with this striking space. Whatever the occasion, this space is sure to impress.


Consider the Foyer/Hancock Gallery for:

  • Dinners and breakfast events for up to 120 seated guests
  • Award ceremonies and presentations for up to 150 seated guests
  • Cocktails, drinks and canapés for up to 250 standing guests

Availability:

  • Seven days per week
  • Morning events before 10am
  • Evening events after 5pm

 

Adam Auditorium

The Adam Auditorium is located on the ground floor of the Gallery, with entry from the main entrance and private entrance from Harris Street, this theatre style auditorium is a gem hiding in central Wellington.

The Adam Auditorium has capacity for 135 seated and 2 wheelchair spaces.

  • Film screenings and product launches
  • Conferences and lunch time meetings
  • Debates and performances

Hirschfeld and Deane Foyer

The Deane and Hirschfeld Foyer, a new area on level one of City Gallery, provides the perfect setting for smaller gatherings for cocktails and canapés.

Transform this blank canvas to meet your requirements, and treat your guests to private viewings of the Deane and Hirschfeld Galleries.

Consider the Deane/Hirschfeld Foyer for:

  • Dinners and breakfast events for up to 60 seated guests
  • Award ceremonies and presentations for up to 60 seated guests
  • Cocktails, drinks and canapés for up to 80 standing guests

Availability:

Seven days per week

Morning events before 10am

Evening events after 5pm

Private Viewings at City Gallery

Treat your guests to a private viewing of our ever-changing exhibitions of exciting contemporary art as part of your function. Gallery spaces may be opened during the start of your evening for a small additional cost.
